Default Dog Net Guns

Does anyone know of a department that uses a net gun ? In specific a gun that shoots a shell that contains a net with 6 sand weights that are used to secure a dog without using lethal force. My understanding was this type of product is available on a limited basis as my City is looking into it but having some trouble locating information. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I am aware of the net gun you are talking about. I belive ACES sells them. But i do not know of any departments that use them yet. I've only seen it on Animal cop's detroit and they had trouble using it. It was kinda comical. let me know how it turns out for you.

There is another net gun that doesn't seem to be as bulky and costs only $470, compared to the $3500 CODA net gun. The major cost for this other net gun is the cost of ammunition since each net round is $110, however, it's quickly reloadable unlike the CODA net gun.

I haven't used this product myself, however, when it first came out a few years back there were some videos of the net gun in use and they even showed a test on a police K-9 and due to the way the net is made, it forms a sort of web that the dog just couldn't get out of. There is a picture from that same video on the 2nd web site I listed of the dog in the net.

Interesting picture. How would you get a very aggressive dog out of the net? It looks like that dog is quite tangled.

Holy Necro Post...

Damn near 10 years ago... LOL... and the OP's last post on here was in 2006. I'd be surprised if their still around. This place is dead unfortunately.

I can say that the net guns are a useful tool. They are limited but do work. Always good to have every resource at your finger tips if possible.
