More on Cinco de Mayo
Back in 1890 something Hellman's was all the rage in Mexico, but it was hard to obtain. The population of Mexico got together and bought a large shipment. It was placed on the 3 masted schooner "Huevo Blanco" and they sailed it from New York with the intended destination being Verzcuz, Mexico. On the way the ship ran into a big storm and went down. To celebrate (or mourn) this loss they celebrate every year on the same day "sinko de mayo"...
