Success stories! Not rumors! You know, job is posted in the forum, member applies, member gets job, member sings glowing praises about jobs forum, moderators use that to encourage corporate sponsorship (read - couple of $$$ to offset operating expenses), members realize wonderous things - you get the picture.

NOW - its time for some success stories. Don't make me have to start this thread too!

Default Ok... Off to Ohio...

Guess I will have to start it then. It's official. Or at least it will be after I sign and fax back my acceptance of the official offer today. Since no one else has offered a success story, I offer mine.

Originally approached to help find someone for the Montgomery County Ohio Director's position, I was eventually talked into applying by my daughter. While I will offer more details later, I will be leaving Newport News and heading to Dayton to start my new job on July 24, 2006.

How did I hear about this position. From the advertisement on ACOFunStop and through the recruitment agency Ralph Anderson & Associates, who by the way, are an outstanding group!

I visited the area and decided the afternoon that I arrived that I had a chance to realize my dream - a forward thinking, well funded, animal oriented, citizen friendly jurisdiction that is committed to a community solution to pet issues. Seems like I fit in. I think my interview was set for an hour. I was still talking about 1 1/2 hours later and probably would have been there until late that evening...

So tonight as I sit and type, the offer letter is on my desk waiting for a signature and a fax back. I think I will practice my signature a few times. Its probably the most important letter I will ever sign.

And for all those friends, co-workers and people on this board who helped me make this journey = THANK YOU = just isn't enough. I am going to miss a lot of people in Virginia especially my staff.

You better believe that the Faith in Animal Control thread going to be toasty tonight and if you follow the blog at Critter Crusaders - that one should be rockin' as well.

OK - Who's next? I know at least 3 that may be able to post here in the near future. Someone, anyone, Bueller, Bueller?

You da best, dude, we all knew that ... Congratulations, and may your future bring you and the animals you work for much joy and success.

Sympathies to the Newport News crowd -- hang in there. Hopefully, a new star will take Mark's place and work magic there too.

Major celebratory and congratulatory messages to you!!! Though, as an East Coast gal, I am sure hoping your equal can be found to step up to the job in Newport News, and sorry that I never got down there to pop in and say "Hi!". Sounds like you found a terrific new home, and it's a true success story!

Yay!
